MEGHAN SALETTA never pictured herself living abroad at 24. “I was scared of the unknown, of taking a detour from what I was “supposed” to be doing, but I knew I had to do it. I decided to LEAP,” says Meghan of her decision to move to Cambridge, England for a year. “And I’m so glad I did. I had the time of my life”.

The 8 songs on Saletta’s first full-length project, Dreaming (due out  September 2016) are living proof of that leap. Together they form a sonic memory, recounting the magic and uncertainty of a young adult finding herself in a foreign land.

“These songs were written in the rolling green meadows and bright storybook-like gardens of Cambridge… some alone in my bedroom, and others in the upstairs function room at the pub where I worked,” Meghan explains. “But they aren’t all explicitly about Cambridge. What if I, for example, is a reflection on the future and the infinite directions we can choose for our lives. This is an album about fully embracing the adventure of living”.

The songs on Dreaming reveal a season of growth and introspection for Meghan, one that she hopes listeners will relate to. “It’s exhilarating and terrifying to step outside of your comfort zone and take the type of risks that force you to grow,” Meghan explains, and she’s not just eluding to moving far from home: “I think the boldest risk of all is being brave enough to hold the pen and claim your story”.

A Chicago native, Saletta graduated from Belmont University in Nashville with a BA in Songwriting. She released her debut EP, “Reminded” in 2012, followed by singles “I’ll Love You" (2013) and “The Good, the Bad, the Ugly and You" (2014). Her song, “Safe + Sound” was recently featured in the independent film Texas Rein (2016). Look for her new album, Dreaming this coming September.
